The design direction

Replace a closed peninsula with an open center

The previous peninsula and knee wall constrained the kitchen. Removing both opened the room and made space for a new island that gives the kitchen a more useful center.

Appliances were reorganized to improve the working layout. New flooring, cabinetry, countertops and a statement hood completed the modern transformation.
